The Sagittarius star field is spectacular in this Hubble image. Read more about this beautiful section of our sky and this image of it here.

Hubble image of the center of Centaurus A. The beauty of this image is in stark contrast to the "galactic cannibalism" that may be occurring here. More information is here, and the full resolution image is here.

The Stingray Nebula (Hen-1357) is believed to be the youngest planetary nebula known. This image was made from Hubble, and information about it, as well as links to higher resolution versions of it are here.

This Hubble image shows starbirth in the Trifid Nebula. Information on this image and links to higer resolution images are here.

This globular cluster, known as M80 or NGC 6093, is believed to contain hundreds of thousands of stars, and it is estimated to be almost 30,000 light years from the earth. More information about this globular cluster and information about this Hubble image of it is here.

This nebula (NGC 3132) is sometimes called the Eight-Burst Nebula or the Southern Ring Nebula.

The small structures in this Hubble image might be protoplanetary disks (proplyds) in the Orion Nebula. More information is here.

This one is called the Cat's Eye Nebula.

Nebula surrounding the Wolf-Rayet star WR124 in the constellation Sagittarius. Read the NASA press release here.

Information about this gorgeous Hubble image of the Bubble Nebula is here.

This very unusual nebula (M-17) is sometimes called the Omega Nebula, the Swan Nebula, the Horseshoe Nebula, or (in the Southern Hemisphere), the Lobster Nebula. It was imaged by the Kuiper Airborne Observatory.

This false color image of the Rosette Nebula was made by at the 0.9 m telescope at Kitt Peak. Here is more information about this beautiful image.

The Pillars of Creation is so pretty that we put this image in the Ingram Science Building! Click here for a NASA link that has their press releases, close-ups of this image, as well as an awesome animation!

Read the details of why NASA reseachers think this Hubble image represents a stellar death process in NGC 7027 here.

This Hubble image was the first one released after the repair mission of late 1999. If it's not obvious to you why they call this the Eskimo nebula (or you just want to learn more about this intriguing image), click here.

Find out more about this Hubble image of He2-104, aka the Southern Crab Nebula here.

This beautiful Hubble image of the Ring Nebula was made in October 1998. Read more about it here.

NASA's Observatorium bills this as an "image of the oxygen emission from the gas at the heart of NGC 415."
